{"id":100,"date":"2019-01-21T15:17:51","date_gmt":"2019-01-21T15:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fdl.wi.gov\/engineering\/?page_id=100"},"modified":"2019-01-25T16:02:25","modified_gmt":"2019-01-25T16:02:25","slug":"sidewalk-management-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fdl.wi.gov\/engineering\/sidewalk-management-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Sidewalk Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-one-full fusion-column-first fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><h3>Sidewalk Management Program<\/h3>\n<p>The City\u2019s Sidewalk Management Program is an annual\u00a0program\u00a0which enables the city to maintain safe sidewalks for pedestrian travel.\u00a0 The city is divided into several different target areas.\u00a0 Each year, as the city budget process allows, a target area of the city is inspected for sidewalks that have become cracked, raised or sunken making tripping and falling a possibility.\u00a0 Sometimes a certain hazardous area has been reported to our office, due to a trip or fall resulting in an injury.<\/p>\n<p>In fall, an inspector, inspects the sidewalks in one of the target areas and marks sidewalk hazards with pink paint.\u00a0 Shortly after the first of the year, the sidewalk replacement program is bid out with the project being awarded to the lowest qualified bidder.<\/p>\n<p>Inspection reports are mailed to all property owners\u2019 whose sidewalks have been marked. The inspection reports include the estimated cost if residents select the city&#8217;s contractor to perform this replacement.
