The Holiday calendar for a given year is published in the fall of the year before with the specific holiday schedule. This is the general list of holidays.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New Year&#8217;s Day<\/li>\n<li>Memorial Day<\/li>\n<li>Independence Day<\/li>\n<li>Labor Day<\/li>\n<li>Thanksgiving Day<\/li>\n<li>Day after Thanksgiving<\/li>\n<li>Christmas Eve<\/li>\n<li>Christmas Day<\/li>\n<li>New Year&#8217;s Eve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be considered the observed holiday just as Monday will be considered for holidays falling on a Sunday.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdl.wi.gov\/hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2025\/11\/2026-Holiday-Schedule-Employees-City-County-Bldg.pdf\" class=\"mtli_attachment mtli_pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2026 Holiday Schedule<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdl.wi.gov\/hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2025\/07\/2025-Holiday-Schedule-Employees-City-County-Bldg.pdf\" class=\"mtli_attachment mtli_pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 Holiday Schedule<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><u>Pay Rate &amp; Working on a Holiday<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Holiday pay will be computed at the employee\u2019s regular rate of pay and at the regular number of scheduled work hours. No employee shall be compensated more than once for any holiday. If a non-exempt employee is required to work on an actual or observed holiday, the City will pay their straight time rate for all hours worked and give the option to receive holiday pay for the day or an additional floating holiday. If an exempt employee is required to work on an actual or observed holiday, they are encouraged to talk to their supervisor about flexing their work schedule. Union employees should refer to their contracts.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><u>Floating Holidays<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Floating holidays are other workdays in the year that can be used as holidays at the employee\u2019s time of choice and must be used within the year in which they are granted. There will usually be 5 floating holidays received each year, depending on the actual calendar, unless notice is given prior; however, when the \u00bd day holidays fall on a Friday or a Sunday, they will be converted into an additional floating holiday as well. New employees are eligible for holiday pay after 90 days of employment.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-2 nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-1 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-one-full fusion-column-first fusion-column-last\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-column-has-shadow fusion-flex-column-wrapper-legacy\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><h2>Vacation<\/h2>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p>The City believes that employees need time away from work each year and provides eligible employees with paid vacation time according to the schedule below and, when it pertains, in the written Union contracts.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><u>Eligibility<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Employees will generally be granted paid vacation benefits as of January 1<sup>st<\/sup> each year based on their length of continuous service.
