Fond du Lac is a great place to live and work and its recreational opportunities are second-to-none. In addition, Fond du Lac is only an hour away from Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Madison and all those communities have to offer.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Fond du Lac is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Center Director. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of Community Development and will guide the programs and activities at the Senior Center that engage the 8 pillars of health for active older adults: social, emotional, financial, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, physical and environmental.<\/p>\n<p>The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:<br \/>\n<strong>Operations:<\/strong> Oversee the activities and programs at the center, ensuring there is a mix of topics; coordinate volunteers as needed to help with coverage; identify when activities should be mothballed due to low engagement; help identify new activity ideas; address participant concerns and complaints related to activities; assist in doing\/putting on the activities (sometimes teaching the activity); establish policies as it relates to Center operations and its programs.<br \/>\n<strong>Friends Board<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Support: <\/strong>Provide support for the monthly meetings and annual meeting. Help to oversee their budget.<br \/>\n<strong>Advocate and Support:<\/strong> Participate in various Boards and external organizations that support and advocate for seniors in the community such as the Falls Prevention Coalition, Dementia Care Network; Wisconsin Association of Senior Centers, etc.<br \/>\n<strong>Customer Service:<\/strong> Actively engage in activities and interactions with the participants.<br \/>\n<strong>Administrative:<\/strong> Draft the budget for the Senior Center to submit to the Community Development Director, prepare monthly reports to include in City Council communications; draft Facebook posts and other outreach about the events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong> Bachelor&#8217;s degree in human services field with four to five years\u2019 program administration experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
