Evidence Control Unit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What You&#8217;ll Do<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a Property &amp; Evidence Control Unit Clerk, you will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive, inventory, preserve, secure, and maintain evidence while ensuring an unbroken chain of custody.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and maintain thousands of pieces of evidence in compliance with Wisconsin Statutes, department policy, and Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation (WILEAG) standards.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate evidence submissions to the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory and other forensic laboratories.<\/li>\n<li>Process, release, and dispose of property and evidence in accordance with legal requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Testify in court regarding evidence handling, chain of custody, and digital evidence processes.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with firearm evidence processing, NIBIN submissions, controlled substance destruction, audits, inventories, and evidence management operations.<\/li>\n<li>Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, prosecutors, Officers, Detectives, attorneys, and partner agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation using evidence management systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We&#8217;re Looking For<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will possess:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>High ethical standards, professionalism, and unquestioned integrity.<\/li>\n<li>Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized software systems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Wisconsin driver&#8217;s license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to successfully complete an extensive background investigation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>Experience in one or more of the following is desirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Property and evidence management<\/li>\n<li>Records management<\/li>\n<li>Inventory or warehouse operations<\/li>\n<li>Customer service<\/li>\n<li>Retail inventory control<\/li>\n<li>Law enforcement support services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical &amp; Work Environment Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position requires the ability to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform physical activities including stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, walking, standing, and moving throughout an evidence warehouse and office environment.<\/li>\n<li>Exert light physical effort, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling evidence, supplies, and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Safely operate a standard motor vehicle.<\/li>\n<li>Work in environments involving temperature fluctuations, dust, odors, noise, biohazardous materials, hazardous chemicals, controlled substances, and other potentially unpleasant or hazardous conditions while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to work-related matters when the Property &amp;
