The primary purpose of this role is to ensure public safety by conducting plumbing inspections, reviewing plumbing permits and plans and assisting plumbing contractors and property owners.\u00a0 Oversees the Inspection Division in the absence of the Chief Inspector.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The successful candidate will have the knowledge, experience, and skills necessary to perform the essential duties of the following: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Field Inspections<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Onsite inspections of plumbing work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working with Plumbing Contractors<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Working with plumbing contractors on code questions, working with State on code questions; reviewing plumbing plans (the City is a designated plumbing plan review entity for the State); conduct educational sessions on plumbing code issues for plumbing contractors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Working with the Public <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Answering questions from the public about plumbing issues; general\/basic code inquiries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Administrative Review\/Permit\/Plan Review<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Review and process plumbing permits, review plumbing plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Complaints<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Dealing with complaints from the public or others regarding plumbing concerns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum training and experience required\/preferred to perform essential job functions: <\/strong>Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience\/testing through State of Wisconsin as a Plumber Master; certified Inspector UDC HVAC and Inspector Commercial Plumbing (ability to obtain after hire); Cross Connection Control Tester certification (ability to obtain after hire); and possession of a valid Wisconsin &#8220;Class D&#8221; Driver&#8217;s License.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong> We offer a comprehensive benefit package including health, life, dental, and vision insurance; long-term disability; 457 and Roth retirement plans; and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
