Task Of Board<\/h2>\n

To hear, deliberate and consider in a fair and impartial manner appeals pertaining to the fair market value of real and personal property.<\/p>\n

Membership Qualifications<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Unless permitted by statute or another provision of this Code of Ordinances, persons who are residents of the City or own property in the City or work in a full-time, permanent job in the City shall be preferred for appointment or selection to serve on any board, commission or committee of the City. An appointed member of any board, commission or committee who removes his residence from the City or sells his property in the City or stops working in the City shall be eligible to serve the remainder of his term but thereafter shall be ineligible for appointment.<\/li>\n
  2. General knowledge of real estate valuation.<\/li>\n
  3. Ability to conduct a hearing, analyze the evidence and render an informed decision in a fair and impartial manner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Method Of Appointment<\/h2>\n

    City Council approves to a 5-year term expiring September 30th.<\/p>\n

    Meetings<\/h2>\n

    The Board generally meets only once a year.\u00a0 State law requires that the Board shall meet annually at any time during the 30-day period beginning on the 2nd<\/sup> Monday of May and shall be in session at least two hours at its first meeting.<\/p>\n

    Compensation<\/h2>\n

    $200 per day<\/p>\n
