The Records Bureau responsibility is to ensure the integrity and security of the centralized records system, data entry, report control, report retrieval, and handling requests for the release of information both in digital and written format.  The Records Bureau also coordinates court related activities such as adjudication of citations and notifying Officers of upcoming court cases requiring testimony.  The Records Bureau is responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state and local regulations regarding reporting requirements of crime statistics.  The Uniform Crime Report (UCR), a statistical analysis report is completed on a monthly basis and submitted to the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The Records Bureau has the equally important task of entering and providing accurate data, ensuring all supporting documentation are scanned and uploaded to the case, maintaining a comprehensive and up-to- date record of officer subpoenas, cancellations, trial preparation while working hand in hand with the District Attorney’s office.

The Records Bureau is staffed by 5 Records Clerks and 1 Records Clerk Manager with a combined experience of over 80 years.

How to Obtain Accident Reports

If you are requesting a copy of an accident report, please visit CRASHDOCS.ORG. There is no fee for the online distribution of the accident report.  To complete your request you will need:
