ARE YOU ELIGIBLE:
- This program is only applicable to minor traffic offenses that are not accident related and not criminal in nature.
- The driver may not have any prior convictions for traffic-related offenses within one (1) year of this violation.
- Drivers may only participate in the Traffic Education Program once every three (3) years.
- This program is only available to drivers with a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO NEXT IF I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?
- Within ten (10) days of receiving your citation, complete the form on the back of the pamphlet (LINK below) and send it to the Fond du Lac Police Department Traffic Education Program, c/o Lakeside Municipal Court, 16 Garfield St. North Fond du Lac WI 54937.
- The $100 fee to take the course must be submitted with your completed enrollment form. Failure to complete the class will result in forfeiting the $100 enrollment fee and requiring payment on the forfeiture amount listed on the citation.
- The class will be scheduled from 6pm-9pm, at the Fond du Lac Police Department. You will be notified of the next available date to attend the class. Online classroom options may also be offered.
HOW DO I BENEFIT FROM THE PROGRAM?
When you sign up for the class, your citation will be placed on hold before processing. If you successfully complete the class, the citation will be dismissed by Lakeside Municipal Court. This means:
- No drivers record entry.
- No fine.
- No points.
- No court.
- You become a more knowledgeable and safer driver.
