Owner and Work: The City of Fond du Lac hereby gives notice that public bids will be received for the 2024 Marquette St & Rees St Reconstruction project. The project quantities include but are not limited to the following described approximate quantities of work:
Furnish, Install and Construct:
2,200 LF 15-Inch and 6-Inch Sanitary Sewer Main and Lateral Reconstruction
2,400 LF 18-Inch to 6-Inch Storm Sewer Main and Lateral Reconstruction
1,400 LF 16-Inch and 6-Inch Water Main Reconstruction
1,000 LF Polyethylene Water Service Pipe
8,900 SF 6-Inch and 4-Inch Concrete Sidewalk and Driveway Approach
2,900 LF Concrete Curb and Gutter
Street Light Installation with Conduit and Wiring
1,600 SY Lawn Restoration
6,500 CY Common Excavation Includes Asphalt and Concrete Pavement Removal
15,600 SY Crushed Aggregate Base Course
4,500 SY Concrete Pavement and/or Asphalt Pavement
Time and Place of Bid Opening: Sealed proposals will be received at the City Administrative Offices, on the fourth floor of the Fond du Lac City County Government Center, 160 South Macy Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, until 2:00 PM CST, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Prepare proposals on the proposal forms provided in the specifications. Submit proposals in person or by mail addressed to City of Fond du Lac, P.O. Box 150, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, 54936-0150. Identify “SEALED BID – 2024 MARQUETTE ST & REES ST RECONSTRUCTION” on the face of each proposal envelope. As soon as practical, after the closing time to receive proposals, a public opening will be held in the City Manager’s Conference Room. A summary of the proposals will be made available.
Bidding Documents: Complete digital project bidding documents are available at www.questcdn.com. Contractors may download the digital plan documents for a non-refundable fee of $35.00 by inputting the Quest project number: 8966444 on the website’s Project Search page.
Pre-Bid Qualifications: All bidders shall be required to file or have on file a valid 2024 Bidder’s Proof of Responsibility form with the Engineering Division, not less than 5 days prior to the time of opening of these bids. Only bidders who have demonstrated their qualifications to perform the work will be permitted to bid.
Proposal Guaranty: Each proposal shall be accompanied by a proposal guaranty, payable to the City of Fond du Lac, in the amount of 5% of the gross bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted as the successful bid, the bidder will execute and file the proposed contract and performance bond within 10 days after award of contract.
Legal Provisions: This contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of sections 62.15, 66.0901, and 779.14 of Wisconsin Statutes.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to accept any bid deemed for the best interests of the City and to waive any irregularities.
