Permit Forms & Fee Schedule

To submit a permit application, please use one of the application forms available below. These forms should be used for all Building, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection permits:

  1.  **PERMIT APPLICATION – FILLABLE  –  To use this form, open the application, then download and save it to your desktop before beginning. You may then fill out the application by typing in each form field, and save again. Then include the permit as an email attachment and email to fdlinspections@fdl.wi.gov.

  2. PERMIT APPLICATION – To use this form, print the application and fill it out manually. You may then scan the pages to your computer, include the permit application as an email attachment and email to fdlinspections@fdl.wi.gov.

Permit applications may also be mailed to our department or dropped off at the Inspections office (located on the first floor of the City/County Government building).

When do I need a permit?

A permit is required for but not limited to: new buildings, additions, interior and exterior alterations, siding, roofing, garages, decks, windows, swimming pools, sheds, patios, fences, electrical work, water heater replacements, furnace replacements, plumbing work, signs and all other improvement and/or repairs.

Permits for minor alterations or maintenance repairs may be waived by the City Building Inspector. To verify if a permit is needed, please call the Building Inspection office at (920) 322-3570.
