The City of Fond du Lac is seeking a three (3) year, July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027 proposal for a contractor to provide taxi service. The service would only be for eligible individuals in restricted service areas of the City of Fond du Lac and Village of North Fond du Lac in a service called SHARED RIDE TAXI.
SEALED BIDS will be received in the office of City Purchasing, City of Fond du Lac, City-County Government Center, 160 South Macy Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on or before 2p.m., on June 17th, 2024 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read for the following item.
Specifications and proposal forms may be obtained from the Purchasing Division, the City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 160 South Macy St., P.O. Box 150, Fond du Lac, WI 54936-0150. Proposals shall be submitted on forms supplied by the City of Fond du Lac and placed in bidder’s own sealed envelope marked “SHARED RIDE TAXI SERVICE”.
The City of Fond du Lac is exempt from all-Federal excise taxes and State of Wisconsin sales taxes. These taxes should not be included in the bid prices.
The City of Fond du Lac reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the city. The City of Fond du Lac may waive minor or immaterial errors in the bids or bidding procedure.
The intent of this service is to supplement the general public transit service to outlying areas of the City of Fond du Lac and Village of North Fond du Lac where fixed route buses do not travel. This Taxi service is to be open to the general public and collect a fare. The contractor must supply a turnkey operation for furnishing a complete satisfactorily operating taxi system.
No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids without the consent of the city.
The contractor will be responsible for all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), FTA drug and alcohol testing, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise purchasing practice plus all other, state, federal rules and regulations including all applicable equal opportunity laws and regulations. Documentation of this effort is required. The Federal Transit Administration Master Agreement is applicable to this contract.
The city reserves the right to cancel any agreement if any unforeseen, undesirable, or unexpected conditions or events make it necessary or desirable. The outside service provider understands that such a reduction in level of service shall cause a corresponding reduction in contract price.
The city encourages Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to submit proposals.
