The City is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Bus Driver. The purpose of the position is to operate a public bus in the transportation of citizens according to predetermined routes and timetables during the hours of 5:45 a.m. – 6:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants must have flexibility to work split shifts and assume other route assignments when needed.

Work schedule will be a minimum of ­­­20 hours/week, and other hours as needed to conduct Transit services. The schedule will be based on the candidate’s availability, and the employer is willing to work with the right person to accommodate their schedule.

Hourly contractual wage – $24.66 at time of hire; $25.91 within 6 months; $27.16 within 12 months; $28.24 within 18 months; $29.64 within 24 months; $30.88 within 30 months (2025 – 2027 wage schedule). In addition, pandemic hazard pay equal to two ($2) per hour for 2026; and two ($2) per hour for 2027. Various duties and responsibilities include:

  • Operate a public bus in the transportation of citizens according to predetermined routes and timetables during the hours of 5:45 a.m. – 6:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements include:

  • Possess an excellent driving record.
  • Possess a Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements. Proof of all endorsements required.
  • Possess and carry a cell phone to conduct transit emergency call-ins.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Previous bus driving experience (preferred).
