The City of Fond du Lac is seeking candidates for the position of Outreach & Program Coordinator. This full-time position reports directly to the Senior Center Director and will facilitate a diverse range of programs that engage the 8 pillars of health for active older adults: social, emotional, financial, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, physical and environmental.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Customer Service: Actively engage in activities and interactions with the participants; i.e. Answer phone calls, assist walk-in traffic, direct to the best possible resources. Engage with participants and serve as empathetic listener for those who are experiencing challenges, as well as sharing positive news.
• Friends Board Support: Provide programs to support the Friend’s mission and stay within the limits of annual budget.
• Programming and Activities: Identify potential topics for programs and activities, including organizations, individuals, or instructors that might lead an activity. Facilitate activities and programs by overseeing room set-up including equipment needs. Troubleshoot issues on the day of the activity as needed. Provide necessary tools and resources. Manage room allotment and timelines. Instruct Balance and Stretch exercise classes.
• Outreach: Work with a network of volunteers to conduct outreach activities to senior living facilities, homebound seniors, etc. – such as greeting card efforts, knitting group, etc. Put together the monthly newsletter that includes a calendar of activities and descriptions of current and upcoming activities. Manage the senior center’s social media channels to create content that connects with seniors, promotes center activities, and informs family caregivers about available services.
• Data Collection: Collects data, in conjunction with the Senior Center Director, on activity participation levels and room usage for reporting and tracking.
• Miscellaneous: Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Associate’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work; Bachelor’s degree in Social work preferred; with a minimum of 3 years in program and activity development experience. Previous work with older adults preferred. Microsoft Office (Google Docs, Word, Excel), Canva preferred.
