Street Maintenance Worker

The City of Fond du Lac is accepting applications for the position of Street Maintenance Worker within the Construction & Maintenance Division. All work is physical in nature. Specific duties include patching streets, forming and pouring concrete, making asphalt repairs in streets, rebuilding and repairing catch basins, working on annual leaf collection program, and salting and plowing snow in winter conditions.

Other duties include transporting gravel, excess soil, building and construction materials; hauling and loading snow; hauling and dumping refuse. Performs routine vehicle maintenance; i.e. checks oil, tire pressure, battery, etc. and manual labor incidental to operation, driving various types of trucks and operating machines and equipment incidental to public works construction and maintenance activities. Ability to maneuver equipment trailer behind a dump truck is essential. Those with experience in construction and the operation of construction equipment will be preferred.

Graduation from high school or equivalent, and possession of a valid Wisconsin Commercial “Class A” Driver’s License without air brakes restriction, and with tanker endorsement required.

Salary range – $19.04 – $21.76.
