About Housing Rehabilitation

The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program provides low to moderate income households in the City with financial and related technical assistance for the rehabilitation of owner-occupied homes.

Loan Qualifications

To qualify for a loan, the property must be an owner-occupied single family residence or an owner-occupied two, three or four family residence and located within the city limits of Fond du Lac. For owner-occupied properties, the owner (s) must reside in the home on a permanent year round basis and hold title to the property. Gross income limits apply.

Loan Repayment

For owner-occupied homes the loan amount is placed as an additional mortgage on the property and recorded with the Register of Deeds. The loan is repaid (no interest) when the owner(s) sell, transfer, lease or vacate the home.
