The agency’s operational resources currently include three engine companies, one truck company, and three ALS ambulances companies which are all distributed between three fire stations located throughout the city. The current daily minimum staffing level is 17 personnel with full staffing set at 20 per shift. The operations division conducts all emergency operations of the agency including fire suppression, hazardous materials mitigation, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, and water rescue. In 2014, engine company first responder calls comprised 73 percent of the total engine company responses. The agency dispatches the closest fire apparatus and the closest ambulance to all medical calls.
