As An Individual or Part of a Community

Your local watershed can provide an opportunity for community involvement. Watersheds are those land areas that catch rain or snow and drain to specific marshes, streams, rivers, lakes, or to ground water.

Fond du Lac County Watershed Sampling

In 2011, the Fond du Lac Regional Wastewater Treatment & Resource Recovery Facility began sampling six river and lake locations in the City of Fond du Lac.  The program was expanded to 18 sites throughout Fond du Lac County in 2015 in an attempt to evaluate the current water quality conditions throughout the county watershed.

Evaluating current water quality conditions and establishing a baseline will be very important as the Fond du Lac WTRRF evaluates compliance options for meeting future low level phosphorus limits.  Please see the link located at the bottom of the page for a full map of all sampling sites.

The Fond du Lac Regional Wastewater Treatment & Resource Recovery Facility is a proud sponser of Winnebago Waterways.  The program is a system-wide effort that engages watershed residents in projects that aim to restore and protect waterways that collectively make up the Winnebago System (Lake Winnebago, Lake Winneconne, Lake Butte des Morts, Lake Poygan, portions of the Fox and Wolf Rivers as well as smaller tributaries).
